Uniform
 

 

Please note: if you already have a non-uniform leotard it is not necessary to replace it immediately. Wait until you out-grow it and then buy a regulation leotard.

Special arrangements may be made for examinations.

BALLET

MB Academy of Dance Hoodies or T-shirts may be worn to warm up.

Pre-Primary & Primary

Girls: Pale pink leotards with capped sleeves & pink ballet socks.

Boys: Black shorts, white T-shirts, white socks.

Grades 1 - 4

Girls: Maroon / kingfisher leotard & pink ballet tights. Pink crossovers may be worn.

Boys: Black tights, white T-shirts.

Grades 5 & Seniors

Girls: Moontide colour leotard & pink ballet tights. Sweat-pants may be worn for the barre.

Boys: Black tights, white T-shirts.

 

JAZZ

T-shirts and sensible close-fitting, flexible trousers may be worn.

 

Shoes

BALLET
POINTE
CHARACTER
JAZZ

Girls: All grades require pink leather / satin ballet shoes with ribbon or elastic (click here for sewing instructions)

Boys: All grades require black ballet shoes.

Pointe Work: children do not start pointe work until they are approximately 12 years old and are attending two or more classes a week. Seniors should be wearing pointe shoes for at least one class per week. It is usually possible for girls to borrow character shoes so please don't buy your own. Black Jazz shoes

 

Jewellery

No jewellery to be worn in classes, except small earrings.

Hair

Hair to be done in a neat style for classical ballet classes and appropriately for modern and jazz.
